Application for winter semester 15.05. To 15.09.
Application for summer semester 01.12. To 28.02.
  • First degree: Bachelor's degree in the field of ophthalmic optics/optometry with 210 ECTS.
  • Alternatives:
    • Bachelor's degree in the field of ophthalmic optics/optometry with 180 ECTS and further 30 ECTS which can be proven by the end of the Master's programme, e.g. practical professional experience and competences, subject-specific further and continuing education, subject-specific work abroad, optometric casuistry, guest lectures, active participation in relevant professional associations) or
    • Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) optometry (7 or 8 semesters) or
    • completed training as a master optician and corresponding further education at university level
  • Abitur or Fachhochschulreife is not required separately, as admission to studies can be granted with the master craftsman's diploma
    • Overall grade of first degree of at least 2.5
    • at least 1 year of qualifying practical experience in applied optometry
  • printed and signed application form of the campus portal of the EAH Jena
  • If applicable, proof of additional qualifications or further education relevant to admission.
  • In the case of a first professional qualification with 180 ECTS, proof of an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience after obtaining the degree must be submitted.
  • certified copy of the first university degree certificate or submission of the original
  • Copy of the university entrance qualification
  • Certificate of exmatriculation from the last university
  • Passport photo (preferably in digital form)
  • If applicable, a curriculum vitae in tabular form with experience abroad and in practice
  • Online proof of health insurance (for applicants who have not yet reached the age of 30)
  • International applicants must provide proof of sufficient German language skills (e.g. TestDaF or Goethe-Zertifikat C2).

Application

Application for the part-time Master's programme "Clinical Optometry" is only possible after a personal consultation.

An application for a place on the desired Master's degree programme is first made online. After you have entered all data on the online application portal, a PDF application for admission to the Master's programme with an applicant number will be generated. Please sign this and send it by post together with the rest of the Checklist to the Master Service. Please note the current application deadlines. After receipt of your application, the JenALL team will contact you.
