Second degree

A second degree programme is another undergraduate degree programme that is taken up after the successful completion of a degree programme. The characteristic feature of a second degree programme is that the further degree programme is an undergraduate degree programme.
Undergraduate degree programmes are degree programmes that can also be chosen as first degree programmes, i.e. for which no completed higher education degree is a prerequisite for admission. This distinguishes second degree programmes from postgraduate programmes, for which a completed university degree is a prerequisite.

As a rule, applications for second degree programmes are made in the same way as for first degree programmes in the case of degree programmes with open admissions, and in the case of degree programmes with restricted admissions via a quota for second degree applicants. Please pay particular attention to the application instructions for the corresponding study programme groups (free admission, limited admission, etc.).
