Applied Materials Science (B.Eng.)
In the first two semesters, you will deal in depth with the fundamentals of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering. You will also learn about the most important material classes and their properties. Semesters three to five serve to deepen your knowledge of material classes, including manufacturing, processing and areas of application. In the sixth semester, you will complete a practical phase and your bachelor's thesis. Here, you will apply the knowledge you have acquired during your studies in a practical project to solve typical professional problems. The bachelor's thesis and practical phase are usually carried out in industry or research institutions. If you are suitably qualified, you can continue your studies in the English-language master's programme in Applied Materials Science at the University of Applied Sciences Jena.
