  • Research? → academic achievements through research work (up to 15 points)

Following study and examination regulations will apply from winter semester 2025/2026:

Application requirements

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a healthcare profession with at least 210 ECTS credits or state examination (medicine) + at least 1 year of professional experience in a healthcare profession
  • Option 2: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a healthcare profession with at least 180 ECTS credits + at least 2 years of professional experience in a healthcare profession

Assessment at a glance:

  • Education (e.g. sports science, occupational medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy or optometry) → up to 30 points
  • Professional experience (at least 3 years in a healthcare profession) → up to 30 points
  • Letter of motivation (approx. 3,000 characters - your background & goal) → up to 10 points
  • Selection interview (90 to 120 minutes - knowledge & practice as for a university degree) → up to 30 points

Admission: with at least 75 out of 100 points

Application requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in ophthalmic optics/ optometry with at least 210 ECTS credits; for degrees with 180 ECTS credits: proof of additional 30 ECTS credits up to the Master's degree (such as practical professional skills, subject-specific further education and training, subject-specific activities abroad, active participation in relevant professional associations) required.
  • At least one year of professional experience in applied optometry
