Taster Programme 2025
Would you like to get to know everyday life at university and experience it up close? Then come to our taster programme from 21 October to 23 October 2025 at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena!
Here you have the opportunity to take part in lectures, seminars and various internships according to your interests. You will be right at the centre of student life!
The taster course is aimed in particular at pupils in grades 9 to 13 and offers a varied programme.
1st TOOLS-Colloquium
The aim of the new series of events at the interface of optics, biophotonics and medical technology is to create an interdisciplinary discussion forum that specifically bridges the gap between experimental optics and specific medical requirements.
The kick-off colloquium will take place on 22 October 2025 at 5 pm at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena, Lecture Hall 1. The first speaker will be PD Dr Oliwia Makarewicz from Jena University Hospital, who will present current developments in the field of molecular diagnostics.
Matriculation Ceremony 2025
Every year, the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena welcomes its newly enrolled students and their families and friends at a festive event.
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at 15:00 in the Ernst Abbe Hall of the Volkshaus Jena (Carl-Zeiß-Platz 15).

Company Contact Exchange "Practice meets Campus"
On two days (probably on 12 and 13 November 2025), regional and national companies will present their offers, such as internships, jobs, thesis topics, etc., directly on the University of Applied Sciences Jena campus from 10 am to 4 pm.
