- a good Diplom or Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, materials science or a comparable scientific or technical degree programme
- good English language skills, which are usually demonstrated either by a TOEFL test or
by proof that modules were completed in English during the Bachelor's degree programme (this
can also be foreign language modules) at least 50 out of a maximum of 125 points in the internal selection procedure, in which the following characteristics
are taken into account- Overall grade of the Bachelor's or diploma degree (up to 75 points)
- Assessment of the quality and suitability of the Bachelor's degree programme completed (up to 20 points)
- Assessment of the quality of special academic achievements through research work in a relevant subject area (up to 20 points)
- Assessment of the letter of motivation, taking into account previous educational and professional background (up to 10 points)
The Materials Technology/Materials Engineering degree programme is a consecutive Master's degree programme that builds on a Bachelor's or Diplom degree programme in a modular fashion. Over four semesters, knowledge is expanded and deepened in a targeted manner

The Master's programme emphasises independent scientific work and research under supervision. In the final semester, you will complete your Master's thesis and present it in the subsequent colloquium
