Application When Changing University

-for German and international applicants-

Have you already completed a few semesters at one or more universities and would now like to transfer to University of Applied Sciences in Jena?

What is the application process like?

Application when you change the university are submitted online via the application portal. After you have selected your desired degree program and entered all required information—particularly regarding your previous studies—your application will be reviewed by the admissions office. If all documents are complete and the information is correct, your application will be approved for online enrollment.

At the end of the online enrollment process, an enrollment application will be generated as a PDF. You must then mail this, along with the required enrollment documents, to University of Applied Sciences Jena by the deadline.

Enrollment takes place in the first semester. You can subsequently apply to the relevant registrar’s office for the recognition of coursework and exams you have already successfully completed at another university, as well as for possible placement into a higher semester.

Note: Are you currently enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences Jena and interested in changing your major? Please review the information on changing majors.

Have you already studied in a similar program or the same one?

If you have completed an identical or similar degree program at another German university, you will need a complete transcript showing both passed and failed courses. If your transcript includes any failed courses, your application will be reviewed by the Examination Office or the relevant department upon receipt.

Application deadlines

The same program-specific application deadlines apply as for applications to the first semester (see list of programs).
