Subject areas: The practical exercises for the course "Integration of Mixed-Signal Circuits" in the lab focus on integrated circuit technology from system to layout. Additionally, practical exercises for the courses Analog Design, Digital Design, and Embedded Systems are conducted in the lab.

Furthermore, the lab also undertakes research tasks with a focus on the thematic areas of the Institute for "Mixed Signal and Optoelectronic Integrated Systems" (IMSO-IS). An extension of the lab for measurement tasks and practical exercises on the robust and test-compliant design of mixed-signal circuits is currently being prepared.

Equipment: The lab has 10 terminal workstations for working with IC design software (Europractice Cadence) on a Unix-based computer server. Each workstation is equipped with an FPGA development board (Altera).

The laboratory is used for conducting practical exercises in the courses 'Microprocessor Technology', 'Digital Signal Processing', 'Process Design', 'Space Electronics', and various elective modules for the ET/IT department programs.

Equipment:

In the 'Microprocessor Technology' course, students develop and build robots that are programmed in C. This provides a practical example to familiarize themselves with the potential uses of microcontrollers.

In the 'Process Design' course, students develop their own processors in the laboratory and implement and test them on FPGA boards.

Signal processing algorithms in the 'Digital Signal Processing' course are created and tested using Matlab/Simulink software.

In addition to the practical exercise stations, there are four workstations available for diploma students or project employees. In addition to PC technology, special high-quality measuring technology is available for these workstations, which can also be used by students for project work.
