The matriculation ceremony is a special occasion to welcome our new students and induct them into the university community.

The ceremony will take place:

on Tuesday, 20 October 2026
from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm
in the ‘Ernst-Abbe-Saal’, Volkshaus Jena, Carl-Zeiss-Platz 15

In addition to first-year students and their families, all ‘senior’ students, academic and university staff are warmly invited to celebrate this special day with us.

To give all participants the opportunity to enjoy the event to the full, no classes will take place from 1.30 pm (Dies Academicus).
